LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville City FC takes the first step in getting a new home.
The team has partnered with architecture firm HOK to design a soccer-specific stadium that would initially seat 10,000 that could be expanded to 20,000 seats in the future. The team is also including space for retail and office developments as part of the stadium design.
The team has not selected a site for the stadium but team chairman John Neace says the team is "getting closer to securing a lot in urban Louisville." Team spokesman Jonathan Lintner declined to discuss any specific sites. Lintner says discussions between the team and city officials have been productive and he expects a site announcement sometime in the next couple of months.
