INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana has one of the highest rates of pharmacy robberies in the nation.
A state legislative committee has approved a bill that would allow for teenagers, ages 16 and 17, to be prosecuted as adults for pharmacy robberies.
The measure is supported by Republican Senator Ron Grooms, a Jeffersonville pharmacist who has been robbed three times.
The bill is opposed by Indiana Black Expo and juvenile defense attorneys.
