(Los Angles, CA) - Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is comparing the protest at the U.S. Capitol to "the Night of Broken Glass" in Nazi Germany.

In a video shared on his social media, the Republican claimed President Trump looked to overturn a legitimate election and "sought a coup by misleading people with lies."

The Austria native reflected on growing up with a father who was a Nazi and seeing things first hand "spin out of control."

Schwarzenegger also criticized elected Republicans who were "complicit with those who carried the flag of self-righteous insurrection into the Capitol." He said the country needs elected officials who serve something bigger than their own power or party.

The 73-year-old Terminator actor concluded the almost eight-minute video by congratulating President-elect Joe Biden and offering his support.
