Meteorologist Fired For Allegedly Using Racial Slur On Air

(Rochester, NY) - A TV meteorologist in New York has been fired for allegedly using a racial slur on-air.

Jeremy Kappell was talking about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park in Rochester, N.Y. during a news broadcast Friday when he allegedly used an offensive phrase in reference to the Civil Rights leader.

Kappell previously worked at WDRB in Louisville.  He took to social media Monday to explain what happened.  Kappell has denied using any slur, and said he just stumbled on his words.

His TV station, WHEC apologized Monday night, and said Kappell was let go.
