So far, about 32 million Americans have gotten at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine with more being inoculated every day. Even so, there are still some falsehoods and bizarre rumors surrounding the vaccines are driving some people to decline immunization even as the pandemic remains a serious public health threat. Some of the rumors: that the vaccine can interfere with fertility; that receiving the vaccine can result in getting COVID-19 or enhance the risk of being infected; and even that it can salter one's DNA somehow. Dr. Simone Wildes weighs in on the newest player on the field, the as-yet-to-be-approved Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which has a few key differences from the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.
