It was a game for the ages last night in college football's national championship and some unlikely heroes.  NBC News Radio's John Clark was there and recaps with Tony.

A new year for Mayor Greg Fischer.  He joins Tony with a preview.

North and South Korea are engaging in the first high level talks in more than two years.  NBC News Radio's Bill Zimpfer has the latest on what is happening in Korea, from the Foreign Desk and breaks it down with Tony.

CES (formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show) kicks off in Las Vegas today.  The annual gathering of a few hundred thousand folks to show off the future in technology is expected to focus heavily on smart devices this year.  Expect more of those devices to interact with Amazon's Alexa and Google Home.  And yes -- as always -- bigger, clearer TV’s and new high tech cars.  There’s chatter about 5G technology – faster than your cell phone’s 4G right now.  And then there are always the surprises and crazy gadgets that nobody really needs but you probably want.  Alex attended a preview event last night and breaks down with Tony what he found out.

Immigration and will be on the agenda during a major huddle at the White House today and at the same time the clock is ticking down toward a government shutdown a week from Friday.  NBC News Radio's Sharon Reid breaks it down with Tony.
