Louisville Police Chief Speaks About Man Shot And Killed By U.S. Marshal

(Louisville, KY) - Louisville Metro Police Chief Erika Shields discusses the shooting of a Louisville man who was killed by a U.S. Marshal last week.

Shields said a U.S. Marshals Task Force was attempting to serve a felony arrest warrant on Omari Cryer Friday morning for domestic violence. The task force tracked Cryer to a home on Sutcliffe Avenue, where he fled an apartment. During a brief chase, the marshal opened fire, hitting Cryer.

Shields said Cryer was in possession of a handgun at the time of the shooting, but didn't elaborate whether he was holding the weapon, reaching for it or pointed it at officers.
