(Frankfort, KY) - The COVID state of emergency is over in Kentucky.
Kentucky lawmakers overrode Governor Andy Beshear's veto of a pair of bills intended to end the pandemic emergency declaration. Beshear vetoed the measures saying that ending the state of emergency would also end Kentucky's eligibility for extra SNAP benefits.
The state of emergency was originally set to expire next month.
