JCPS Could Vote On School Security Officer Proposal Soon

(Louisville, KY) - Jefferson County Public Schools may be getting closer to adding school security officers.

Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio proposed adding sworn officers at schools to the board of education Tuesday.

There have been dozens of fights and guns found at JCPS facilities this school year with LMPD Chief Erika Shields saying it's time for the district to have its own police force.

The board could vote on the proposal at the end of this month.
