(Frankfort, KY) - Governor Andy Beshear is declaring a state of emergency after heavy snowfall in Kentucky.

The snow began late Thursday morning, causing hazardous road conditions and numerous crashes and slide-offs. The Kentucky National Guard was activated after I-75 at the Fayette/Madison County line and I-64 in Clark County were closed.

All state office buildings are closed Friday due to the winter storm.
