(Frankfort, KY) - Governor Andy Beshear says years of recovery are ahead for several western Kentucky towns devastated by tornadoes.
Beshear says the death toll from this weekend's storms is nearing 75, with many still unaccounted for.
The governor says it may be weeks before a full picture of the loss is known. He says people have died in at least nine counties, but most of the people at a Mayfield candle factory flattened by the storm were found alive.
The super-cell storms produced what is being called the worst tornado outbreak in Kentucky history.
