(Louisville, KY) - A former Metro Sewer District truck driver is guilty of murder.
On Tuesday, a jury found Roger Burdette guilty of causing the crash that killed LMPD Detective Deidre Mengedoht on I-64 downtown on Christmas Eve of 2018.
Burdette was found guilty of wanton murder, wanton endangerment in the first degree, driving under the influence, and failure to give the right of way to a stopped emergency vehicle.
The jury has recommended Burdette serve 27 years in prison.
