Metro Council President Concerned Over Lack Of Corrections Officers

(Louisville, KY) - Metro Council President David James says the lives of Metro Corrections officers and inmates are in danger.

James made the comment after learning there were only 18 officers running floor security in the jail on Saturday for over 1,600 inmates.

There were only 14 officers handling security Sunday, including two floors that had just one officer.

James says the department is more than 120 officers short, which he called totally "unacceptable."
