(Louisville, KY) - Jefferson County Public Schools are open again.  Over 96,000 students will attend classes both in-person and online.

The district is following a universal mask mandate over coronavirus concerns. All students, staff and visitors are required to wear masks on school buses and in district buildings regardless of their vaccination status.

Students who attend Jefferson County Public Schools shouldn't have trouble getting to class Wednesday. JCPS says all of its over 770 bus routes are covered for this school year.

The district was able to retain about 80-percent of its bus drivers from the past school year.
