(Louisville, KY) - Louisville Metro Police Chief Erika Shields is calling recent violence that killed two teenage girls and left another teen injured "unacceptable."

During a news conference Thursday, Chief Shields said being "normalized to children being slaughtered is complete crap."

On Wednesday night, a 16-year-old girl was killed and a 15-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting on Cecil Avenue, near South 41st Street and West Market Street in the Shawnee neighborhood.  Early Thursday morning on the same block, another teenage girl was shot and later died.
