(Louisville, KY)Â -Â Louisville Metro Police Chief Erika Shields is standing by her decision to demote a former major.Â
Aubrey Gregory was demoted in May for allegedly using offensive, derogatory language during training. Gregory was the commander of the LMPD's Training Unit.Â
During a Metro Council meeting Tuesday night, Chief Shields said better judgment needs to be used to move the department forward.
