Mayor Fischer Proposes Spending Plan For American Rescue Plan Funds

(Louisville, KY) - Mayor Greg Fischer is proposing a plan to spend the first round of money from the American Rescue Plan.

Mayor Fischer said Thursday he wants to use nearly $39 million of $388 million on what he called the city's most urgent needs. They're broken down into COVID-19 health needs, vulnerable resident stabilization needs and economic recovery.

Fischer says the rest of the money will be spent on priorities in the city's Build Back Better Together initiative.

The initiative was created in 2020 as a framework for creating an equitable recovery from the coronavirus outbreak.
