LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Newly filed court documents say an MSD truck driver was watching porn minutes before a deadly crash that killed an LMPD detective.
Court documents say Roger Burdette had a pornographic video open on his phone moments before he crashed into a Louisville Metro Police vehicle on Interstate 64 in downtown Louisville.
The 2018 Christmas Eve crash resulted in the death of LMPD detective Deidre Mengedoht.
According to documents, Burdette started watching the video at 2:12 p.m. He crashed into Mengedoht's vehicle minutes later at 2:17 p.m. At 2:20 p.m. Burdette closed the video. Investigators say a dive into Burdette's search history showed he had pulled up similar pornographic videos throughout the day.
Burdette has been charged with murder. His trial is set for next month.
