Louisville Has "Broad Flexibility" To Spend Coronavirus Relief Funds

(Louisville, KY) - The federal government says Louisville will have "broad flexibility" to spend its share of new coronavirus relief funds.

The U.S. Treasury Department released guidance for the permitted use of American Rescue Plan funds Monday.

The funds can be used for infrastructure, public health response, to fight the economic impacts of COVID-19, support the hardest hit communities, replace lost revenue for local governments and pay essential workers.

The $388 million will be received in installments starting this month and must be spent by the end of 2024.
