(Louisville, KY) - A spokesman for a union representing LMPD officers says the department is facing a serious lack of personnel.
Dave Mutchler represents both the River City Fraternal Order of Police and the Louisville Metro Officer Union. While speaking to Fox News Tuesday, Mutchler said the department is "in dire straits."
Nearly 190 officers left LMPD in 2020, and over 40 have stepped away so far this year. That's left LMPD nearly 260 people short of its "authorized strength" of over 1,300.
