(Louisville, KY) - LMPD Chief Erika Shield says she's opening an internal investigation after an officer was seen punching a man several times.
The video posted to Facebook Sunday shows officers taking Denorver Garrett to the ground while trying to arrest him after he was standing in the middle of West Jefferson at 6th Street.
Once on the ground, an officer is seen hitting Garrett while officers try to handcuff him.
Chief Shields said the video "raises serious questions and is not consistent with LMPD training."
