LOUISVILLE, Ky. - We now have a better idea of where Saturday's Thunder Over Louisville fireworks and air show displays will be.
According to permits filed with Louisville Metro Government and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, the fireworks will be launched from Bowman Field, the Kentucky Expo Center and Iroquois and Shawnee parks along with Caesars Southern Indiana.
The air show will be in a one nautical mile radius of Bowman Field according to a Notice To Airmen posted by the FAA.
In a statement, the Kentucky Derby Festival said they "knew it would be a possibility" the locations would be made public before the event but continue to encourage people to stay home and watch the show on TV, warning "large crowds could put the show at risk."
