LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Jefferson County Public School superintendent is recommending a phased-in approach to getting kids back in the classroom, beginning in mid-March.
Dr. Marty Pollio's plan calls for Kindergarten through 2nd grades to resume in-person instruction on March 17th. 3rd through 5th grades would return on March 18th. Elementary students would be in the classroom five days a week. Early Childhood would begin March 22nd.
In-person learning for middle and high schools would begin after spring break on April 5th. It would be a hybrid plan, with students in the classroom two days a week and three days of remote learning.
All JCPS students will have the option of remote learning.
Pollio says social distancing and masks will be required at the schools.
The superintendent will make his recommendation to the Board of Education, which will vote on the plan Thursday night.
