Sen. McConnell Reacts to Acquittal of President Trump in Second Impeachment

Second Impeachment Trial Of Donald J. Trump Continues In Senate

(Washington, DC) - Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is suggesting former President Trump can be held accountable in a court of law for inciting the Capitol insurrection.

This comes after the Kentucky Republican voted to acquit Trump in his second impeachment trial. Speaking on the Senate floor, McConnell said Trump "didn't get away with anything yet."

He says there is no question Trump is "morally responsible" for provoking the events on January 6th.

McConnell argued that rioters stormed the Capitol because they were fed falsehoods and conspiracy theories by a president who was angry that he lost the election.
