LOUISVILLE, Ky.-- This year's Thunder Over Louisville fireworks and air show will be a lot different thanks to the pandemic.
The Kentucky Derby Festival announced the April 17th show will be spectator-free and not held at the waterfront. There will be airplanes and fireworks, but the show will be "city-wide."
The Pegasus Parade will also happen, but it won't be held on Broadway.
The organization plans to release more details about the events at a later date.
Also, this year's Derby Festival Marathon and Mini-Marathon will be both virtual and in-person, with the in-person option taking place over several days with staggering start times.
Last year's Derby Festival events were postponed and later cancelled because of the pandemic.
