Program To Help Those Behind On Utility Bills Launches In Louisville

(Louisville, KY) - Louisville Metro Government is launching a program to help people pay for their light, water and sewage bills. 

$10 million will be part of the Metro COVID-19 Utility Relief Funds and can be used for people with active LG&E and Louisville Water Company/MSD accounts with past due balances.

These balances must have occurred between March 16t, 2020 and the end of last year.  People could receive up to a $5000 credit for their bills.

28,000 LG&E customers are behind on their bills. 15,000 have outstanding balances on their Water/MSD bills. There are no income restrictions to receive the utility assistance.
