(Louisville, KY) - Breonna Taylor's mother is calling for an independent prosecutor.
Attorneys for Taylor's family said Wednesday that Tamika Palmer has sent a request to the Kentucky Prosecutor Advisory Council asking the body to appoint a new independent prosecutor to present an "unbiased case to a new grand jury."
The request comes weeks after Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced none of the Louisville police officers involved in the deadly March drug raid on Taylor's home would be directly charged for her death.
Former detective Brett Hankison has been charged with wanton endangerment after being accused of firing bullets that entered a neighboring apartment.
