McConnell Says He Has Not Been to White House Since August

Senate Republicans Hold Closed Luncheon

(Erlanger, KY) - Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he has not been to the White House since August because of the Trump Administration's "approach" to handling the coronavirus pandemic.

The Kentucky Republican says that he talks on the phone with President Trump "frequently" since he tested positive for COVID-19.

McConnell says he thinks the President is "perfectly fine," and they are having discussions about Amy Coney Barrett's nomination to the Supreme Court.

Barrett's nomination ceremony at the White House almost two weeks ago is thought to be the super-spreader event that has led to more than 26 infections.
