Louisville Police Prepare For Protests On Derby Day

(Louisville, KY) - Louisville Metro Police are preparing for possible large protests outside Churchill Downs for Saturday's Kentucky Derby.

The Kentucky National Guard will assist officers with traffic control and any problems that may happen around the track.

Mayor Greg Fischer said unlawful protests on private property will not be tolerated.  Protesters with opposing viewpoints will be funneled into different areas to avoid confrontation.
