JCPS Calendar Committee Recommends Delaying Start Of School Year

(Louisville, KY) - The calendar committee for Jefferson County Public Schools is recommending delaying the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

The calendar committee came out of Wednesday's meeting with a recommended start date of August 25th, nearly two weeks later than the current scheduled start date of August 12th.

The recommendation is expected to be sent to the Jefferson County Board of Education, which would have to approve the plan.

It's not yet known if JCPS students will return to in-person classes, non-traditional instruction or a combination of both.
