Hundreds Of Current, Former Officers Call On Mayor To Resign

(Louisville, KY) - Current and former LMPD officers are asking for Mayor Greg Fischer's resignation.

Hundreds gathered at Central Park Tuesday saying they have the same goals as peaceful protesters, a racism-free and corruption-free Louisville that everyone can be proud to call home.

They also said Mayor Fischer's lack of leadership is causing declining morale among officers.

Those who gathered specifically called out the mayor for directives to stand down during riots and for what many called catering to criminals.  Fischer responded by saying the orders didn't come from him. He says those decisions were made by LMPD Interim Police Chief Robert Schroeder.
