LMPD Releases Body Cam Video From East End Shooting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville Metro Police have released body cam video of Tuesday night's officer-involved shooting in Louisville's east end.

Two officers responded to the 1600-block of Ash Glen Road after a man in distress with a history of mental illness called police.

Police say when officers arrived, a white man in a car didn't respond to multiple orders to exit the car and show his hands.  After several minutes, police say the man exited the car with a gun in his hand.

The second officer did not fire his weapon and will not be identified.

Officer Patrick Norton fired the weapon that struck the man, who was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Norton is on administrative leave, which is standard in officer-involved incidents.
