FRANKFORT, Ky.-- It's a milestone day in Kentucky's battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

The first significant easing of restrictions begins Monday with the re-opening of certain healthcare services.

They include non-urgent/emergent services, diagnostic radiology and lab services in hospital outpatient settings, clinics and medical offices. Physical therapy, chiropractic, optometrist and dental offices can also re-open.

The businesses must follow strict safety requirements. They must screen all workers and patients for temperature and COVID-19 symptoms. Personal protective equipment is also required.

Phase 1 of the re-opening does not include elective surgery or invasive procedures.
