MSD: Flushable Wet Wipes Not So Flushable

Coronavirus Pandemic Causes Climate Of Anxiety And Changing Routines In America

(Louisville, KY) - The Metropolitan Sewer District is asking Louisvillians not to flush anything other than toilet paper.

MSD officials say with toilet paper in short supply during the coronavirus outbreak, the alternatives people are turning to are causing problems.

They say "flushable" wet wipes don't break down the way toilet paper does and it's responsible for 60 percent of the clogs MSD fixes daily.

MSD also says you shouldn't flush dental floss, paper towels, hair or tissues.
