Louisville Archdiocese Rejects Governor's Request To Cancel Services

(Louisville, KY) - The Archdiocese of Louisville has responded to Governor Andy Beshear's request that churches cancel services due to the coronavirus.

On Wednesday, Governor Beshear asked churches to cancel services for at least this weekend to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The diocese says it's been in contact with the Louisville Metro Department of Health and Wellness to talk about prevention methods.

Archbishop Joseph Kurtz says with the information he has at this time, he won't be calling for cancellation of daily or weekend Masses.
