UofL Women's Basketball Recruit Thankful For Relationship With Kobe Bryant

Los Angeles Lakers v Milwaukee Bucks

(Cashmere, WA) - A Louisville women's basketball recruit is reacting to the death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter in a helicopter crash.

The NBA legend and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna were among nine people who were killed in the crash in Southern California Sunday.

Earlier this month, Kobe and Gianna watched Hailey VanLith play in a game with her Cashmere High School team in Washington state, posting pictures to social media showing them giving the Louisville "L" sign.

VanLith said she was thankful God gave her a chance to build a friendship and mentorship with Kobe and Gianna.
