(Louisville, KY) - At least one police department in another state is targeting Louisville to recruit officers.
The Chesterfield Police Department from Virginia will set up just blocks away from LMPD's headquarters next week to recruit officers.
A flyer for the recruiting event says Chesterfield's starting salary is $47,000 annually, which is $10,000 more than new LMPD officers make.
A class of LMPD recruits is scheduled for next month, and another in June with Chief Steve Conrad previously saying he expects about 100 officers to resign or retire by summer.
