Former UofL Football, NFL Player Charged With Fraud

(Washington, DC) - A former University of Louisville linebacker and NFL player is accused of filing false healthcare claims in a federal case based in Kentucky. 

Robert McCune and nine other ex-NFL players are facing conspiracy, wire fraud and healthcare fraud charges.

The Department of Justice says the players submitted false claims to the NFL Player Health Reimbursement Account Plan in a $2.5 million scheme. 

McCune played for UofL in 2001 and 2002 before he signed with the Washington Redskins.
