(Louisville, KY) - Jefferson County Public Schools is taking a step towards solving its teacher shortage.
JCPS Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio told the Kentucky Board of Education Wednesday that the district has over 100 teacher vacancies.
Dr. Pollio says the district is launching a teacher residency program to help with the shortage. It will allow college grads who didn't major in education the ability to gain certification in a year.
