Thousands Compete In Ironman Louisville

IRONMAN Louisville

(Louisville, KY) - Thousands of athletes are recovering following the Ironman Louisville competition.  About 2,300 athletes competed in the 13th annual event Sunday.

The race included a 26-mile run and a 112-mile bike ride, but the nearly two-and-a-half-mile swim had to be called off due to high levels of algae in the Ohio River.

The race started at the Great Lawn and finished up at Fourth Street Live.
