JCPS Votes To Increase Property Taxes

(Louisville, KY) - Jefferson County Public Schools is voting to increase property taxes in Jefferson County. 

The Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the increase for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. 

The board says in order to support schools and build new ones, the tax rate will go up slightly from 72.5 cents per $100 assessed to just over 73.6 cents on real estate and personal property. 

It's the second straight year the board has voted to increase property taxes.
