(Louisville, KY) - Doctors, nurses, and other staff working in the emergency room at University Hospital are being honored for their work with gunshot victims.
Awards were presented Thursday to trauma staff at the ER by a local nonprofit and several former patients in recognition of their dedication and the care they have provided.
Hospital officials estimate that around 16 people are treated for gunshot wounds at the ER every month.
