Report: McConnell To Meet With 9/11 Fund Advocates

Senate Lawmakers Hold Their Weekly Policy Lunches

(Washington, DC) - Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is reportedly planning to meet with 9/11 first responders Tuesday after a backlash over the September 11th Victims Fund.

The fund is set to run out of money soon unless Congress takes action.

The Kentucky Republican has said that Congress has never left the 9/11 victims behind, and they won't now.

The backlash came from people including comedian and activist Jon Stewart, who accused lawmakers like McConnell of using the fund as a political bargaining chip.
