Metro Council Budget Committee Sends Proposal To Full Council

(Louisville, KY) - The Louisville Metro Council's budget committee is unanimously passing a budget amended from Mayor Greg Fischer's original proposal.

The budget forwarded on to the full council will allow LMPD to have its recruit class start in February of 2020 instead of March.

It also gives the library system an increase to restore full library hours and potentially fund the Middletown Branch.

The budget also funds the opening of Sun Valley and Algonquin pools next summer, despite coming up with about $25 million in savings.
