Sen. McConnell Confirms He Would Fill Supreme Court Vacancy In 2020

(Paducah, KY) - Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says if given the chance, he will push through a confirmation vote for a Supreme Court Justice in 2020.

In 2016, the Kentucky Republican refused to consider President Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court.

McConnell said at the time that the American people should have a voice in the selection of the next Supreme Court Justice.

However, with a Republican in the White House along with a GOP controlled Senate, McConnell assured people at a luncheon in Paducah that a vacancy would be filled next year.
