Kentucky Teen Who Sued After Refusing Vaccination Now Has Chickenpox

(Walton, KY) - The northern Kentucky teen who sued his school after refusing to get a chickenpox vaccination now has that malady.

Jerome Kunkel refused to get vaccinated last March when there was an outbreak at his school, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Assumption Academy, because of his religious beliefs.

A state court upheld the ban against unvaccinated students.

Kunkel's lawyer confirmed the 18-year-old now has chickenpox and hopes to be over it next week.

Kunkel and his family claim they have no regrets over their decision not to get vaccinated.
