(Frankfort, KY) - Two key lawmakers say Governor Matt Bevin may call a special legislative session on pension relief as soon as Monday.
The session would give lawmakers time to enact a bill to provide relief for entities such as regional universities and local health departments from a spike in pension costs set to hit July 1st.
Bevin has not said exactly when a special session might be called but he told NewsRadio 840 WHAS reporter Will Clark to expect it soon after the Kentucky Derby on May 4th.
The legislation would replace a bill that Bevin unexpectedly vetoed April 9th.
