(Frankfort, KY) - Kentucky's Attorney General is threatening to sue over subpoenas asking for the names of teachers who called in sick so they could protest in Frankfort last month.
Andy Beshear sent a letter to Governor Matt Bevin asking him to take back the subpoenas by next Friday and says Bevin of trying to intimidate teachers who called in sick.
Beshear says the teachers were within in their rights to call off if they thought certain legislation was bad for schools.
Jefferson County Public Schools closed multiple times over a three-week span because teachers called out sick to protest at the state capitol.
Beshear is a Democratic candidate for governor.
