Steam Locomotive Being Restored To Operation

(Lexington, KY) - Train lovers will have a chance to see one of the iconic old steam locomotives chug through the Commonwealth. 

The Chesapeake and Ohio 2716 locomotive is being restored to operation. 

It will travel over three days in July from the Kentucky Railway Museum in New Haven to the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation in Estill County. 

The locomotive will be the centerpiece of the new Kentucky Rail Heritage Center. 

Tickets to ride the special July 26th excursion go on sale Thursday.
