High School Student Loses Lawsuit Over Chickenpox Vaccination Requirement

(Covington, KY) - A northern Kentucky high school student's lawyer says Jerome Kunkel is devastated after a judge ruled on Tuesday against his lawsuit challenging a public health district's chickenpox vaccination requirement.

Kunkel sued the Northern Kentucky Independent District Board of Health after it barred students who aren't immune to chickenpox from attending school or extracurricular activities during an outbreak.

Kunkel had told reporters he isn't opposed to all vaccines, only those, like the chickenpox vaccine, that are made using a fetal cell line from a decades-old abortion.
